Arrival

We were first greeted by a Robot when we stepped into the stylish lobby of Courtyard by Marriott Taipei. Check in was still via the counter and it was hassle-free as i have already communicated my needs via the Marriot App Chat which will appear 2 days prior to check in.

Location

As you check in, you’ll be delighted to learn that the hotel is directly linked to Citygate mall and adjacent to Nangang Station. Even though the hotel locations is not exactly situation downtown, you can still easily access Taipei’s top attractions, business districts, and cultural landmarks via Nangang Station. Also, the cost of the hotel is lower than those hotels in downtown Taipei. We’ve strategically planned to spend the tail end of our trip exploring downtown areas, where we’ll be staying at Roaders Plus Taipei, conveniently situated next to Taipei Main Station.

Food enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice with the diverse range of dining options available at Citygate mall. I do noticed that this mall seems to be Japanese themed as most stores serves Japanese cuisine and there is a huge Don Don Donki store. We did not spend much time at Donki as i find that the prices were significantly cheaper than those in Singapore.

The highlight of the mall for my kids would be the discovery of a large toy shop.

Room

We booked the hotel’s 43sqm deluxe room. The room layout was a hit, boasting a cozy sofa and table for post-bedtime suppers, ample luggage storage, and, much to the boys’ delight, a bath tub.
