Our first few questions to our selfs when we started our wedding preparation were:
- Banquet or Buffet? Our choice was influenced by our respect for our seniors. We choose Sheraton Towers for our venue due to the following reasons1. It is a 5 star hotel. Looks grand! Especially the staircase
- The location is so convienent being just next to Newton mrt station
- The price is reasonable for a 5 star hotel
- Wedding show perks – free 3N the residence Maldives stay (this was the decision point for me hahaha, we get to save on honeymoon and don’t have to think where to go and which hotel to stay!)
- Lunch or dinner? We were influenced by cost! Lunch is wayyyyy cheaper by a couple of hundreds per table
- Solemization (ROM) on the same day or different day from the banquet day?
- Pro of doing it on the same day: save the effort of planning two events and save money
- Cons: actual day will be very rush n hard to enjoy the moment
- Pro of doing it on two different day: Actual banquet day will be less rushed and stressful as our banquet is lunch. Get to enjoy the moment of being Husband and Wife instead of just rushing through the day. The hotel was also nice to allow us to have our food tasting on our solemnization day. Our thinking was since we already need to take leave to come down for food tasting, we might as well solemize on that day. Hence we only required to top up the cost of one extra table and we are able to invite our immediate family members and xiong di jie mei to witness this important occasion. It also helps that Sheraton offers a table of 12 pax seating arrangement
- Con: it cost more and you need to spend abit more effort to plan for the ROM.
- Post ROM thoughts: no regrets doing it separately. We thoroughly enjoyed the moment of union and the presence of our loved ones.
